The Monumental Heritage of Rajasthan
City Palace ( Udaipur )
Located in Udaipur, this is one of the largest palace of Rajasthan and consists of four main palaces within the complex. There are several other minor palaces, like the Palace of Joy, the Palace of Pearls, the Palace of Mirrors, Krishna Palace and the Garden Palace.

Amber Palace ( Jaipur )
The Amber Palace is located 11km from main city, Jaipur. It was constructed by the Kachhwajas in the Mughal period. A palace that endorse the grandest achievement of Rajput architecture in Rajasthan. Ganesh Pol, entrance portal to inner palaces, is in fact, the most magnificent portal in Rajasthan.

Hawa Mahal ( Jaipur )
Popularly known as the Palace of winds, Hawa Mahal was constructed in 1799 by Sawai Pratap Singh. It is an integral part of the City Palace, though standing away from the main palace complex with a view for the royal womenfolk to enjoy cool winds in the heat of the desert while watching the processions on the road below without fear of being observed by the common folk. From the roadside, the palace appears very fragile as if threatening to vanish into thin air. But the beauty of the palace lies in its most romantic and delicate architecture in contrast with the general rustic and solid architecture of Rajasthan. Tourist from all over the world throng to Jaipur, in order to see the beauty of Hawa Mahal.

City Palace ( Jaipur )
The City Palace of Jaipur is now a famous museum and a heritage hotel. The core of the royal residences in Jaipur housing the Palace of the Moon - the private palace of the ruler.

Mehrangarh Fort ( Jodhpur )
Constructed in 1459 by Rao Jodha , Mehrangarh fort is situated at a height of about 125 meters and spread over an area of 5 sq km with seven gates, looks down over the city of Jodhpur from a hilltop. It houses a number of palaces inside.

Taragarh Fort ( Bundi )
An extensive fort constructed in 1354. An eye-catching bird view of the town from the fort is an attraction for the tourist. There are many palaces inside.

Junagarh Fort ( Bikaner )
Constructed by Raja Rai Singh, Junagarh Fort is one of the few in India which could never be conquered, consists of 37 palaces, pavilions and temples inside it.

Golden Fort ( Jaisalmer )
Constructed in 1156 by the Bhatti chief, Jaisal, situated on Trikuta Hill. This yellow sandstone fort seems to ignite into a golden flame in the scorching sun of the desert. One fourth of the old city's population lives inside the fort even today. The architecture of the fort as well as the palaces inside speaks of the amalgamation of the Rajput and the Islamic architectural styles.
